Pirate boy...

I walked into the living room and this is what I saw. Tobin, no shirt on, wearing a pirate eye patch, pirate hat and sitting next to Elmo.

I asked him, "What are you doing?"

He responded, "Elmo pirate!"

I'm not sure if he IS an Elmo pirate, or he's just playing Elmo pirate. Either way, I thought he was super cute. I sure am glad Santa gave him boy dress up clothes to play with. He loves them!

Elmo Dance

For Christmas Tobin recieved an Elmo LIVE from his Papa and Nonny. He has been our form of entertainment since Christmas. I shot a short clip of Tobin entertaining everyone when we were in Arkansas. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. I will TRY to keep the Elmo videos to a minimum. ;)

Tobin's Reaction on Christmas Morning

On Christmas eve, my wonderful mother in law gave me a "flip" video camera. Can I say this is the best thing on the planet? It truly is amazing. We captured Tobin's 1st reaction on Christmas morning, and just HAD to share it with everyone. Enjoy! I hope you all have a very merry Christmas. Happy Birthday Jesus!

Mary

As I stare at my baby belly
I think about her.
The woman who carried Jesus
On that night, so long ago.

I’m curious of her demeanor.
I ponder her pain.
I am visioning a woman
With very little to gain

Did she know the huge impact
Her son would soon bring
On a world centuries away
How we’d celebrate this day?

Could she know we’d sing carol’s
Or decorate a tree
How we’d sing happy Birthday
To her son, the True King?

So on this Christmas Eve
I thank God for sending
His son, the Christ Jesus
So I could come to be…

Staring at my baby belly
Thinking about her.
The woman who carried Jesus
On that night, so long ago.

The Countdown to Baby Girl Begins...

I went to the doctor today and everything went wonderfully. My blood pressure was 116 over 68, and I was down one pound! Yippee! I have to gloat for a moment and tell you that I am very proud of myself, especially in this holiday time, for watching my calories and making good choices. Okay, now that I stepped off my soap box... The countdown starts! My Doctor officially scheduled my c-section today! That's right- if I don't go into labor first, she will come on February 5th! I was kind of hoping he would do it the week before, but I'm okay with it. So, I have 6 weeks and 3 days until her arrival... unless she decides differently. Considering how I was induced 41 weeks with Tobin I am guessing she won't decide to come early. I guess we will just see.

Tonight is the Christmas party for our Northwest OKC campus staff/wives. I am super excited about it. I wish I wasn't so exhausted, but I AM eight months pregnant ;) Tomorrow starts all the festivities for Christmas eve- service number one at 7pm. Come join us at Lifechurch.tv if you want to see a great service! I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas week. I must force myself to enjoy everything, and not stress out. After all, I don't think baby Jesus would be stressing out about all the things we stress over during Christmas week. MERRY CHRISTMAS WEEK! Make some great memories with your friends and families!

33 weeks

Tonight we headed to the Edmond campus of Lifechurch.tv for the annual "Christmas Drums" performance. We let Tobin sit through service with us, and he had a great time! I wore my Christmas shirt that my Grammy made for me this Christmas, and it's so comfy and cute! I love it! Tony thought we looked so cute tonight in our Christmas attire, that he took our photo in front of our tree. Although, you can't see much tree with me covering it ;) Anyway, no lipstick or eye makeup, but that's okay, I guess. I have a lot to do before Christmas, I can't believe it's only 3 days away! Eeek! I hope you enjoy this Christmas week for every moment that it's worth!
33 weeks

PS- I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow... I'll update everyone if anything changes. But we only have 3-6 weeks left to go! I cannot believe it!

Pillow Talk

Where's Tobin?
Peep Eye!

He loves collecting ALL the pillows around the house and hiding. He learned "peep eye" from his Nonny. Now, there's no more "Peek A Boo". He LOVES being scared, and loves scaring others. I just had to take some photos today when he was playing his routine out for me! Have a great weekend!

Gingerbread House

Three days, Two broken peices, One Toddler, and a gingerbread house that doesn't look finished...

...But boy, did he have fun! Thank you Aunt Carol for sending it to us to make. We'll see if there is any candy left on it by Christmas! ;)

Santa Baby...

His plastic puppy ornament from the tree. Please ignore the boxes and toys under the tree. Tobin thinks it's his hideout! ;)

He had a fever (red cheeks) and cheeto stained fingers and face; However...
He's still my Santa Baby... Merry Christmas!

Trip to the Hospital... #1

Last night after dinner, I was sitting on the couch and started having intense chest pains on my left side. It felt like someone had stabbed a knife in my heart. I couldn't breath in or out. Tears running down my face... Tony flipping out... We both decided I needed to go the the ER. We got there, and they sent me to Labor and Delivery(If you are over 24 weeks pregnant, they automatically send you to L &D). I guess that was good, because we didn't have to wait a long time in the ER. Luckily, my doctor was on call and walked in when we got to the 5th floor. When I told him what was going on, he kinda chuckled and said to the nurse, "give her some Pepcid!" I kind of took offense to his statement. He said to do an EKG to make sure all was okay. I just knew something else was wrong besides heart burn. I am not a baby when it comes to pain.

Two hours of monitoring later, one EKG, Antacids, Pepcid, Morphine, Ambien, and a toddler ready for bed... the diagnosis was Acid Reflux. WHAT!? Can I tell you I felt like a huge baby? The nurse explained that people think they are having heart attacks all the time and it's just ACID! Okay, I guess that makes me feel a little bit better...

Overall, we were very grateful that everything is going good. They monitored the baby while we were there, and that was kinda fun to hear her heartbeat that long. All the memories of going into Labor with Tobin came rushing back. I can't believe it's getting so close to her arrival time.

For all of you who prayed for me last night, thank you! I will continue to keep everyone updated as our baby girl's arrival is soon approaching!

Dumb Things People Say To Me, the Pregnant Woman

I thought I'd write down a few of the quotes people have been saying to/asking me lately. For the record, I have gained 9 lbs, and I'm 33 weeks along. I'm just sayin...

"You are so cute, when are you due?" After telling them, they respond, "Wow!
You're really big already!"

my thought- wow, you sure know how to make a preggo feel bad about herself.

"Are you having twins?"
my thought-nope, but thanks for making me feel fat

"How are you standing up?"
my thought-ugh, with my feet genius

"Will I get that big when I'm pregnant?"

my thought- gee, I don't know... will you be this rude when you're pregnant?

"Your belly is Huge!"

my thought- well, I am carrying a person inside my body

I just thought I would state for the record that I'm not bitter at all. I just thought maybe you'd think these people were as "smart" as I thought they were. I mean, what makes people say stuff like this? Do they think it will make me feel "good" about myself. Do they walk away and feel bad about it? Not one person has apologized after saying one of these things. I take it all in stride, and have a good laugh. Afterall, I am very blessed! Hope you have a good laugh too!

White Elephant Manger

Last night, our family went to the Calvitti's Christmas party. It was so nice! We loved spending time with everyone there, and had a great engaging in meaningful conversations. We had a "white elephant" present exchange. Tony picked a package that was this plastic/resin nativity scene. Tobin has been playing with it the whole morning! I could hardly get him down for a nap because he wanted to sleep with it! I'm not sure who brought this gift to the party, but it is being used for a wonderful purpose... To teach a two year old about the "true" meaning of Christmas.

Just FYI: This is his favorite person in the manger... yes, the black Wiseman from afar. He carries him around everywhere! Love it!

Monkey Blessing

This morning, Tobin and I went to Kohl's to run some Christmas errands. We were standing in line to check out and they had the usual $5 stuffed animal display. I hate it because every time we go, Tobin begs for whatever animal is there. Anyway... He named the different animals, and the sounds the animals make, then he said "Tobin's?" "Pwease?"
I said, "No buddy, not today"
He said, "Pweeeease?"
I again said, "I'm sorry Tobin, not today"
The older woman standing in front of us said, "I would love to buy one for him."
I said, "No. Thank you very much, but we don't need one."
She then responded, "I would like to bless you today, if you would let me."
Well, what was I supposed to say?
I said, "Of Course" and thanked her wholeheartedly.
Needless to say, Tobin was thrilled! I am in a very fragile emotional state now(those who are around me often understand what hormones have done to my body). I cried, of course.
Thank you woman, whoever you are!
Thank you, Lord for blessing us today! It's amazing what a mere $5 can do for a child!

Baby Girl photos!

(click on photo to enlarge-please excuse the scanner smudges/marks)
We had our 30 week ultrasound today. Baby Girl Cobb is measuring a week big…surprise, surprise! I thought you might like to see some photos of today’s visit. They are all three a 3D photo of her face. In the top photo, you can really make out her puffy lips; her chin is resting on her arm. Photo number two is also her face. In the third photo, her arm is over her face, but you can see her eyes and nose peeking above.

The doctor said she has hair! She is measuring in the 68th percentile, except her belly- it is in the 94th percentile! Tony said, "What does that mean?" The Doctor replied, that's the first part of the body that gets chubby! We both laughed. It looks like she might be a big one, too. Well, however big she is, we cannot wait 8 weeks until we meet her. Please continue to pray for our sweet baby girl, and continued health during the duration of my pregnancy! Thanks! Love you guys! Miss you tons!
Here are some photos snapped while we were there:

big screen on the wall- that's how we watched the ultrasound.

Proud Daddy!

6:30 came a little early for our tobin boy

Tobin, looking at "baby sissy!" Please excuse my work boots! hehe

Getting to Know You... Christmas Edition

Okay... this is for my global family. I have caved to the pressure! They have been emailing these all week. I thought I'd post mine on my blog for others to "enjoy" as well. Feel free to copy!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Clothes, always wrapped in paper. Oddly shaped items go great in bags! I always save the bags/wrapping we receive!

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial

3. When WILL you put up the tree? We put up the tree the day after we get back from our Thanksgiving trip.

4 When WILL you take the tree down? After new years... We'll see what happens this year with the baby coming.

5. Do you like eggnog? Love it! I guess I inherited that taste from my daddy

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My doll house, and Barbie house with real light up lights, carpet, and balcony (I thought Santa loved me the most that year! Thanks mom and dad!)

7. Hardest person to buy for? Dad! If he wants it, he gets it for himself.

8. Easiest person to buy for? Tobin! I wish I had a lot of money to spoil him with!

9. Do you have a nativity scene? yes, I have a collection of many that people have given me over the years. They are my favorite decoration to set out! I do need to get one Tobin can play with, though.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Since we have a child, we send out photo cards through snail mail each year.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A new windshield for my car... courtesy of "Santa" a month before. It was definitely needed, but not too much enjoyed.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? How the Grinch stole Christmas-original cartoon version of course!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Eeek! I am definitely a procrastinator!

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Not that I can recall

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? The homemade goodies people give us (pastor's families) each year.

16. Lights on the tree? Who doesn't put lights on the tree?

17. Favorite Christmas song? 5 little shepherds... I do have a toddler people.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Christmas Eve with Tony's family... Christmas morning at our home with Tobin... Then we load the car and go to "Papa and Nonny's" house(I do miss the pecan waffles on Christmas morning, mom!).

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Not tonight with my pregnant no-brain absent-mindedness

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Both

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? The "Season's Greetings" and "Happy Holidays". I had a hard time even finding a "religious" card this year! What ever happened to "Merry Christmas"?

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Our tree is gold and red, but I LOVE the ornaments with Tobin's photos in them. I do one each year.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Mom's homemade dressing with Dad's gravy... and of course, "Cottie's" rolls, too! Mmm... I wish I had some now!

26. Who is most likely to respond to this? Kristyn- Tag!

Christmas Sock PJ's

Tobin had to pose in his new "sock" pj's. They are Christmas pj's I got on sale last year after Christmas. They have Christmas trees with stockings hanging on them, Reindeer with Stockings hanging out of their mouths, and snowflakes randomly placed. They are pretty cute! Anyway, Tobin says they are NOT stockings, they are "socks"! I guess... to him, they are just "socks". I mean, why are they called "stockings" anyway? I guess I need to research the history on Christmas Stockings. I snapped some photos of him posing in front of the tree with his "Christmas Sock Pj's" tonight, and thought I'd share them. Enjoy!
I have no idea where he learned to "pose" like this. But, when you take his photo, he says "Cheese" and folds his hands under his chin and tilts his head. What a ham!
Happy boy!

He LOVES to play behind, and underneath the Christmas tree. There are a collection of his things back there. Oh well, he's only two years old for one Christmas, right!?

Summertime Steadiness

Is anyone else having trouble finding routine in the craziness that is summer 2020? I am a planner. Yes, I still carry around a paper planne...
