1 week to go!

This time, next week I will be holding my little girl! My C-section is scheduled for Thursday, February 5th at noon. Please keep us in your prayers as we near our baby's birth day. I am a little nervous about my "major" surgery. I know c-sections are the most performed surgeries in the world, but I am still a little anxious. I know that this is my only option, due to safety for me and the baby. I know the Lord is watching over us. I know He has a plan. I really want to rest in HIM the next week and prepare myself for loving another little one. I am looking forward to adding a sweet girl to our family, while at the same time... I realize this is the last week that Tobin will be my only child. It will be the last week that just he and I play, read, learn, and grow.

Can you tell I am emotional? There are TONS of thoughts going through my head right now, and I won't burden you with most of them. We really are super excited and Oh, so ready! I will say that we covet your prayers this next week, and especially at noon, on the 5th. One week from today! Yippee!

Winter Wonderland

Well, we officially got our first snow of the winter. We went out and played this afternoon although we weren't out there long because we got so cold so fast. It was 15 degrees when we were outside, they said it felt like 8 degrees with wind. All I know for sure is that it was super cold! Tobin had a terrific time, and Tony and I had a great time watching him have fun! I posted photos and some videos of today. Hope all my friends in Texas are having fun in their short sleeves! Wish y'all were all here to play in the snow with us! Enjoy the videos!

Tobin and me with no makeup on! Eek! We sure had fun in the snow!
Tobin and Tony after just sledding down the driveway.

Tobin's 1st time to sled. Check out that grin!

Tobin "crashed" his truck. We saw one like this upside down on the side of the road.

Ice on the tree in front of our house.

Making "holes" in the snow.

It's Slippery!

I took this video of Tony salting and de-icing the driveway this afternoon. It's getting bad out there, folks! The forecast looks toward ice, and more ice through Wednesday. Get the salt out, and watch out- it's slippery!

Visit with Mamaw and Mimi

This morning Tobin's Mimi (Tony's mom) and Mamaw(Tony's Grandmother) came to visit us for a while. They brought yummy barbeque for lunch, checked out the baby's nursery, and played with their adored grandson. Tobin is the only grandchild, which means he gets his share of spoiling. I took a few videos today because every moment is treasured and remembered, but only few are captured in time. With that said... here are two videos I took today. One is much longer than the other. We miss you already, but know we'll see you soon! Thanks for coming to visit us today! We love you!

It's a "Color" kind of day

Tobin has not been feeling well, lately. He has been fighting some sort of virus. He is doing much better now. For a few days, all he wanted to do was lay around and watch TV, or sit and stare into space. I guess a few days of Noggin and Disney movies won't kill the kid. Anyway, yesterday he wanted to color so badly! I know he was definitely feeling better. We picked out a couple color sheets from the computer to print off, and he colored for a long time! I guess it was sort of a "color" kind of day- too cool to play outside, too tired to run around inside. I love days like this!
PS- Thanks Mamaw for the wonderful coloring tray you gave Tobin for Christmas! He loves it!

Uncle Nathan's Visit

Saturday night, my brother Nathan was in town for a Wedding ( notice the tie :) . He was just miles away from us, so he decided to stop by Church ( The NW Campus) to say hello. We loved seeing him! I should have taken a photo of Tobin's excitement when he saw his uncle Nathan. He LOVES his uncle Nathan! I guess we should have gotten the "belly" in the photo. Yes folks, I'm still preggo! Anyway, thanks for stopping by Nathan! Your visit was way too short- we miss you already!

Dinner Date...

I recently went on a date with my boys to a popular restaurant in the area. We had a gift card from my sweet Aunt Carol. Tobin was terrific, and such a sweet boy during dinner. Food was yummy! I snapped this photo of my sweet Tobin. Thanks for the blessing Aunt Carol! We miss you and love you so much!

Mobile

Here is a photo of the mobile I made for the nursery. The original mobile was covered in blue fabric and had baseballs hanging from it. It was used in Tobin's nursery. I stripped it and sewed new pieces for it to match the room and cradle(I'll add photos of the finished cradle soon!). The photo is hard to tell, but I sewed fabric hearts out of the same pink floral fabric used throughout the room. My sister in law gave me these three sweet bunnies. I added skirts to two of them, and hung them from the mobile. I am please with how it turned out. I'm sure our sweet baby girl won't be too much of a critic and will LOVE staring at them moving around.

If you are bored, I added my nursery photos to HGTV's rate my space page. Check it out and rate my room if you want! It will be interesting to see how many hits it gets! Have a great week!

Baby Girl's Shabby Chic Nursery!

Okay folks, with less than 4 weeks till this little princess comes we have finished the nursery! That's right, you heard me! My wonderful mother drove over from Arkansas and we worked our tails off for 4 days getting everything in order. Enjoy the photos.

We have received many things in this room for no cost to us at all. For everything we received as a "gift" they will have "free" next to them. I will try to let you know all the details!

View from door when entering the room.

View from changing table.

The little shelves were blue and in Tobin's nursery. We painted them white, antiqued them, and painted the inside the same color pink as the pink floral fabric.

View from other corner of room.
Glider and Ottoman were FREE. I covered the Ottoman with the pink floral fabric used throughout the nursery. I sewed the valance with the same green/gold strip fabric we used to add on to the bottom of the bed skirt. My mom made the pillow using all the fabrics in the room.

Crib. We bought the pink crib from a yard sale with matching changing table from a refund check received in October. The princess netting was bought with the furniture.

Corner between closet and crib. This little table was FREE. We painted the inside of the shelves pink to match the fabric in the room.

Dresser was bought for $30 at a thrift shop. It was a yucky gold color. We sanded it and the cream paint was underneath. We left it how it was after it was sanded because it was perfect for the look we were going for.

We "antiqued" or "Shabby Chic'd" the crib and changing table. It gives them so much more personality! Most of the crib bedding was given to us by our sweet friends. We added other fabrics for a customized look.

This bulletin board (hung behind the door) was FREE. I added the fabric and ribbon in the center of the board with the fabric in the nursery.

The lamp was also included when we bought the crib. I antiqued it and we added peony silk flowers to the shade. I made the scarf on the top of the dresser with the same fabric. The booties were mine as a baby.

Pink floral fabric used again as a matte for some rose cards my mom had laying around. Framed as artwork really make a splash of color!

Shelf above the changing table was bought for $5- painted the same color pink as inside the other shelves in the room. Mirror was FREE- it was bright white before we antiqued it.

So, there you have it! The room is ready for baby- besides a few little details we are still working on. Hope you enjoyed the tour! Let me know what you think!
