SNOW DAY!!!

I don't know if it's snowing where you live, but we are excited about the snow here today! Caroline and I are sad that the boys are at work and school and can't join in the fun.  She is zonked out in her bed for a nap so I thought I'd jump on here real fast and post some pictures.  We haven't had a good snow in a couple years so this is pretty awesome. 

 Tobin's teacher sent this to me, from school today when it started snowing.  I can't wait for him to get home so we can play in the snow together!

It's still coming down beautifully outside which means I'm sure I'll have more pictures to share tomorrow!

It's gettin' HOT in HERE!

Summer is keepin us super busy! We have been in the car a lot, going to Frontie! On the few days that we ARE home, we like to play board games and watch movies :)

It has been over 100 degrees here for days and days and days. You think I'm exhagerating? I AM NOT! Today,it was 109, at 7:30 pm! CRAZY HOT! So, if we are outside, we are IN THE WATER! We have been spending at least one day a week at White Water Bay (a water park here in the Metro area). We have season passes, and are getting our money's worth!

Tobin is growing up, right before my eyes. I cannot believe he will be starting Pre-K soon! Caroline is still our princess, but oh ... so ... much... drama! She is sweet, but sassy. Oh my, we are in TROUBLE when she become a teenager, I can feel it!

(yes, that is chinese food boxes. Our church is serving popcorn in them for At The Movies this year, it is Kung Fu Panda themed lobby. Another reason we have been super busy)

We spent the 4th of July in the Heat, inviting people to church. It was one of the best "4th's" we have had as a family! We all wore matching green t-shirts, yes I said GREEN. We stood out, that's for sure! We LOVE our church, and it just opened a new kids wing this weekend! Another reason we have been somewhat busy lately. The kids wore their patriotic stuff the whole week before July 4th, since we weren't going to wear it on the day, itself :)

The t-shirts were only in adult sizes, so I made caroline a dress, and Tobin a shirt in his size. They were a hit!

My health has been better. My Thyroid is very disfuncitonal and my hormones are all very low. They are trying to figure out why I am still not normal. Prayers for continued healing on my body are greatly appreciated... as are prayers for Tony- he is the one that has to put up with my moodiness ;) Regardless of the heat, and health issues, medical bills, etc...we are counting our blessings! I made it to 29 this year(a week ago, to be exact)! Tony and I lost a bunch of weight this year, and I battled another rare disease. We are so thankful for God's blessings and provision for our family. So, I will leave you with this song that my mom used to sing to me as a little girl. I have been teaching it to our kiddos. Have a super weekend, and a fabulous week ahead!

Snow Day... Kinda

A couple weeks ago, we got some snow... kinda. It was snowing big 'ole flakes. I knew it wasn't going to stay long ( I had been watching the weather ), so I told the kids we should go out and play! Tobin was so excited that it was all I could do to get him to put socks on! Caroline wasn't sure what to think. She was too little last year to "play" in any snow, and was afraid to step off the porch into it...

She wasn't quite sure what to think at first...

He was wanting to sled, and there wasn't enough yet... especially when he discovered the snow melted when he walked through it.
This face he is making is a face his daddy makes. So funny!

She kept yelling, "Tobin, catch em! Bubba, catch em!" She was hypnotized!


Why are slippery sidewalks so fun to play on?

She was so delighted when she realized it wasn't anything to be scared of, and had so much fun running through the snowflakes!


OOpps, took a tumble and caught herself, then she was mad because her hands were cold. No one listens to mommy when she says, "you better wear some gloves" Ha! She was still Joyful.
Can you see his "Super Tobin" shirt peeking through his coat? He REFUSED to put on long sleeves. I am learning to choose my battles.
What a sweet smile from my sweet boy.
He had to take his hat off and "feel" the snowflakes. What a precious big boy!

The photo above, and the photo above... take a good look... they are making the same face with their chins and lips. So funny! They are cut out of the same cloth for sure!
She was so elated about the flakes falling!


So, a zipper pull breaks? No biggie in our house :) Just use a huge safety pin, Ha!

She wouldn't let me help her get her "boops" off. "I do it by myself!" She looked precious in her little snow suit :)
It was all melted by the time they woke up from their naps this day. I am still crossing my fingers that we get a big "fun" snow this winter, before spring comes. It is so blasted cold and windy here, it might as well snow, right?
