We Are Alive!

I'm sitting here overwhelmed with thoughts thinking... "How will I ever catch up? Where do I start? and Do people even care about my blog?" I haven't written a post since before Thanksgiving. I have many many photos I could upload, lots of cute stories I could tell, and a series of "healthy" blogs I intend on writing.

Right now, I just want to let everyone know that we are alive and doing wonderfully! If you are reading this, do you care? Ha! Seriously, I'm just curious if any of you actually read my posts. I do this mostly for relatives out of state, and know I need to do better. Life gets busy, I know that! We have been so busy, it is really crazy to think about everything that has happened in the non-blogging last three months. I will post photos later this week. I hope to do better, and could fill a post full of ramblings of why I haven't updated in a while. Who cares, right?

Just to let you all know we are not MIA any more, and not sure if I will play "catch up" for a little while, or just start blogging again.... or a little of both ;)

Hope your holidays were terrific! Our family had a wonderful Christmas season! Hope to hear from YOU, on if you read this or not. :)

7, 8, 9, 10

Today was 08/09/10. I wanted to take photos of us tonight at 5:06:07 pm but, didn't. So, I tried again at 7pm! Here are some silly photos of what we were doing tonight at 7 (pm) 8/9/10!
I grabbed the camera and headed to find Miss. Princess. She was, of course playing with her babies in her room!
Tony and Tobin were watching transformer clips on Tony's iphone, on the couch.
I stole tobin for a split second to catch a photo of the two of us. (don't notice my sunburned, no make up face! :) Look at his beautiful eyes!
By that time, Caroline had picked up her milk and had run to see what we were up to!

Then, Tobin decided to get his, too!
I know what you're thinking... Why would she post this photos? Well, it's the last time in my life time that it will be 7, 8, 9, 10! So, there ya go!

Speechless

I was running frantic this morning from store to store. I had to get supplies for some blankets I'm making for some special babies that are arriving soon. I had both kids with me. Tobin was on his best behavior most of the morning. As noon was approaching it was getting hot outside. Caroline was tired of sitting in carts and Tobin was getting tired of following me around. I ran by Sonic to get some drinks to tag along with us before our final stop of the day. I got my usual Vanilla Diet Dr. Pepper and Tobin had a Diet sprite with orange. We were in a popular fabric and craft store (which I won't name) in a long line. We were about third in line, and there was a woman in line behind me. I had just handed out animal crackers to my kids to subdue them while we stood there in line. I grabbed my diet Dr. Pepper and took a big drink (As I silently prayed to God above to make my kids behave until we got out of this store)and shot a smile to the cashier. ( I secretly hoped she would get a HUGE hint that my kids were at their limit and she needed to hurry)

Out of nowhere am man (older than me, probably in his late 30's/early 40's) swiftly walked by us. He said loudly so everyone could hear, "Hope that's a diet coke!"

He kept walking, but turned his head around and smiled at me and laughed.
My mouth dropped and eyebrows turned. But, I stood there speechless. I looked around to see if anyone else saw that, or if it was a figment of my imagination. The lady behind me had a grimace on her face and shook her head. It was clear I wasn't the only one who had heard.

I was embarrassed.
I wanted to laugh.
I wanted to cry.
I was praying Tobin didn't understand what the man said.
I stood there in disbelief.

I think Tobin could have broken a vase right then and there, and I wouldn't have even noticed because I was in la la land until we got to the car... where I broke down and laughed out loud while a few tears ran down my cheek.

What is wrong with the human race? Is this poor man so miserable that he has to point out other's imperfections to make himself feel better? If I was thinking I should have said, "At least I can loose weight, you will always be ugly!"

What would that have taught my children?

My weight has fluctuated my whole life. Last year, Tony and I worked hard and lost weight. I got down below my pre-pregnancy weight. Then the stress of our year hit hard. Seven months of steroids wears on me every day. I gained over 40 pounds. I am finally at a place in my life where I'm happy with who I am in Christ, no matter what I look like. I am actually a joyful person most of the time. I don't work out daily like I should, but I don't indulge in high calorie foods and sweets every day. It's not like I weigh 400 pounds!

It's amazing how fast one's self esteem can be shot down. I am still taking this all in. But, I guarantee a weight loss plan is on the horizon folks! I'll let you know in the next few days how I feel about what happened today.... after it has soaked in a little bit.

Just venting.... Isn't that what blogs are for?

09/09/09

I had to take some photos on 09/09/09. I meant to all day long. I forgot until the day was almost over but, here they are. Since my camera is crazy and posts the date on ALL the photos I ever take, it worked out well.... I know I'm crazy, but it will be great for the scrapbook!

Anniversary Adventure

Tony had told me that I needed to be prepared for a whole day of "just the two of us". He had babysitters arranged from noon until 9pm. He told me what to bring. The rest was a surprise. Here is a photo journey through our day together.

The two of us headed out on our journey...

This was our first stop.
That's right, folks! Tony had reservations for a private 2 hour horseback ride at Lake Stanley Draper. I always wanted a horse when I was a girl. Tony, on the other hand hand never ridden before. There was no clouds in the sky, high of 78, and a cool breeze. Perfect conditions for horseback riding through the woods!

Tony trying to get on the horse for the first time! ;)

My horse, Black Jack

And off we went!

Through the woods, on lots of trails.

We swapped the camera, and he snapped a few. Had I known what we were doing, I would have worn a more flattering top. You see, horseback riding is not the "best" of posture, and posing for photos. Oh well, had to document the day!

We had a terrific time! In my right hand there is a horseshoe. Our guide gave it to me and said to hang it over our door for luck. She showed me the right way to hang it so that all the luck doesn't "pour" out. We will hang it somewhere in our home. However; our home is filled with blessings from the Lord and not "luck"... just saying.
Our next stop was here...
The Warren Theater. It is a brand new theater that is built to represent an old theater. The ushers all wear tuxes. ( I should have taken a photo of one of them!) They have balcony seating, and the curtain doesn't rise until the show starts. It was so great! I was impressed! We saw The Proposal. It was a pretty cute movie!

Part of the inside of the theater.

Tony making his "Why do you take pictures of everything" face.

Had to snap one of the two of us! he looks like he's kissing the camera. Haha!
Our next stop was dinner. Tony used a coupon for "Buy One entree, get one FREE". He is my kind of man. So we ate at TGI Fridays on the patio. So romantic! So yummy! So affordable!

With no kids, we actually sat next two each other. It was so nice! Of course we talked about the kids the whole time I think...
Then, waiting for me was a dozen red roses and a private sunset cruise on Lake Hefner. I could not believe it!
So excited, pulling out of the dock!

Elated!

Some sparkling GRAPE JUICE and toasts for another 50 years. I think if we take care of ourselves we should be able to make it to 55 years of marriage!

Our Captain, and crew: Jeremy Baldwin Thanks for letting us use your restored 1956 Higgins, wood bottom boat. SO romantic!

Me and My Prince Charming At Sunset! Goodbye sun, Hello future!

We sat in the middle of the lake to watch the sunset. When our Captain went to start the boat...
wait for it.....
...you guessed it. It didn't start! Ha ha! So, the police had to tow us back to the dock. I think that might have been the best part of the day.
To our rescue: The Police Boat!

1956 Higgins

The beautiful boat and amazing Captain!

To my love: Thanks so much for the amazing Day! It will never be forgotten! Wish we had it all on video, too! You're the best, I don't deserve you. You are truly the man of my dreams!
Thanks to Babysitters: Britney Rose, Jessica Waszak, Sarah Burnett, and Boat Captain: Jeremy Baldwin for making our day possible! We love you all!

Summertime Steadiness

Is anyone else having trouble finding routine in the craziness that is summer 2020? I am a planner. Yes, I still carry around a paper planne...
