Wednesday morning the kids and I went to meet our friends at Douglas park. We love Kim, Curt, and "baby Cody" (as Tobin calls him). It was a warm, spring day. It was also windy, like usual here in the windy Oklahoma. Here are some pics and a couple videos of our time at the park. Anyone want to join us for the next day at the park?

becoming Easter Eggs
Tonight Tobin colored his first Easter Eggs. Aunt Carol sends us a set every year, but last year he was too tiny, so I did them myself. He had such an amazing time! There are 3 videos uploaded for your enjoyment after all the pics. I had taken several with hopes of ONE of them to post- I could not decide which one, so I posted them all. I know Nonny will probably enjoy the videos the most! Hope you all dye your Easter eggs and eat your yummy egg salad sandwiches this year. But, don't forget the "real" reason for Easter. We have been trying to instill that in Tobin's little brain. Not sure if he's getting it or not. Tonight we asked what Easter was about. We asked him what Jesus did for us on Easter. He said, "Baptised!" Well, either he's a genius, or he hasn't quite figured it out. We'll keep working on it. I'll update you all soon enough.

Red Bud Classic
Today was so windy and cold! It was not the best day to run or walk a distance, that is for sure. However, we stuck it out and made it through. Tony ran the 5K in less than 36 minutes. I walked the 2 mile in less than 36 minutes. The kids and I crossed the finish line about 20 seconds before Tony. It was amazing timing!
I am so proud of Tony for running the whole 5K without stopping- he didn't start training to run until about 6 weeks ago. For those of you who know him, he was not a runner before this... at all! I cannot express how proud I am of my husband!
Tobin and Caroline were such troopers today. Caroline slept the whole time, and Tobin was bundled up in the front of the stroller. He waved at the passer-by's and just kept shouting "Race fast, Race fast" and "Find Daddy, Find Daddy!" I had explained that it was a "race" and we would find daddy when we got to the finish line. He did not once try to get out of the stroller, or whine or complain. Of course, Caroline did not either.
As my previous post stated, We dedicated our run to James Ryan. We had signs pinned to our back for James. As I walked today, I prayed for James and his sweet family. I ask for your prayers of continued healing for James in of support for the Ryan Family.

In Honor of James

Tony has been working hard training for the Red Bud Classic 5K run on Sunday, April 5th. I am so proud of him! I was going to do the 5K with him, but due to my c-section recovery it looks like I will just be walking the stroller 2 mile. I am okay with that, and quite proud of myself for even doing 2 miles. Tony and I have decided to walk/run in honor of sweet little James Ryan. We know the Ryan family from our old home in the Woodlands. James was diagnosed with Leukemia on July 12, 2007 at the age of 13 months. James' mother, Joy was pregnant with him the same time I was pregnant with Tobin. It was fun going through our first pregnancy together, and sharing our first steps into motherhood. I will never forget the moment I found out that James had Leukemia. Tony and I burst into immediate heart aching tears and prayer. James is now half way through treatment and there is a 1/2 way 5K dedicated to him in the Woodlands, TX this Saturday. We won't be able to make it, so we are dedicating our run/walk to James. Greg and Joy, we admire how you have handled this battle and persevere like you do every day. We are celebrating this 1/2 way point, and continue to pray for James' recovery. We will be thinking about you and your sweet family every step of the way on Sunday. We will continue to pray for you and James daily. We love you!
And The Storm Rolled In
Monday evening, we went outside to go on our daily walk. The clouds were so beautiful. Within seconds, I realized where the phrase came from, "The storm came rolling in". There were fluffy white clouds, then it transformed into this. Once the clouds started to look scary, I ran inside and got my camera. These photos are in order. Isn't Oklahoma weather amazing? Who would have known we had a snow storm 3 days before! Incredible!
